Professional Resources:International Confederation of Midwives- ICM's mission is to strengthen Midwives' Associations and to advance the profession of midwifery globally by promoting autonomous midwives as the most appropriate caregivers for childbearing women and in keeping birth normal, in order to enhance the reproductive health of women, their newborns and their families. National Association of Certified Professional Midwives- NACPM’s purpose is to be a powerful, collective voice for Certified Professional Midwives. We strengthen and support excellence in the profession and influence birth health policy to ensure that all childbearing people and babies have a healthy start. North American Registry of Midwives- The certifying body that administers and grants the Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) credential. Midwifery Education Accreditation Council- The purpose of MEAC is to establish standards for the education of competent midwives, and to provide a process for self-evaluation and peer evaluation for diverse educational programs. MEAC is a non-profit organization approved by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency. Midwives Alliance of North America- The mission of the Midwives Alliance of North America is to unite, strengthen, support and advocate for the midwifery community and to promote educational, economic, and cultural sustainability of the midwifery profession. |
