Connection:  MAF  is a community of licensed midwives,  retired licensed midwives, birth centers, and community members working together to create a vibrate midwifery community in Florida. We work together to  create a positive collegial environment between midwives and other members to work to improve practice, the practice environment, and maternity care for Florida families. 

Conferences:  Our conferences are held every two years. They provide important CEU opportunities and networking for licensed midwives and other community and professional members.  Conference discounts are a benefit of MAF Membership.  Conference are put on through a team of volunteers. Public Policy / Advocacy: MAF works hard at the capitol to protect licensed midwifery from threats to practice and to find opportunities to improve care for Florida families.  With the help of our professional lobbyists, we strive to stay abreast of any state legislative or policy changes that would impact practice and advocate for midwifery. MAF organizes midwife and consumer visits to legislators  which helps build understanding of midwifery and its importance to our maternity care system and to Florida families.  

Free Informational Services: The association keeps members in touch with each other and current issues through the association’s web site, online resources, and newsletter updates of emerging issues relevant to licensed midwifery.
